Something Creative
Well since I’m blogging about my life etc I should probably talk about who I am. Basics first. I’m the oldest of 8. I have 2 younger sisters & 5 younger brothers. I was raised on a dairy farm in southwestern MN. After high school I moved to St. Paul & went to a private college for 4 years. After 4 years I dropped out & got a job. I was tired of school but I continue to learn. I love the learning part of school! The lectures & slide shows, discussions and text books. I hated the tests & homework.
After college I worked an odd assortment of office jobs. I was the office manager for such widely divergent areas as a new age/Eastern philosophy publishing house, an IT training center & a dot-com promotional items business. After I met my husband in a chat room on Yahoo! I worked for a specialty eye-glass designer/manufacturer. My husband Abe was in the Navy straight out of high school (more about the wonderful man I married later). We moved to northern MN in October of 2005. I now work for an insurance agency as the receptionist. My job is to answer the phone & direct all the crazy & sometimes tragic things to the various agents. It’s often boring but there are days when more interesting stuff happens than a person would really like.
My dream (or rather one of the large assortment of dreams that I have) is to write the “Great American Novel”. So far nothing but there is time yet. I also would love to travel the world. I have a great longing to see all the so called great cities of the world. This includes but is not limited to the great cities of Europe back before WWI & WWII. Granted this would require a time machine among other things so I think I may have to live w/o ever fulfilling that dream!
My greatest dream right now is to be blessed with a child. Abe & I are both very anxious to have children…we just don’t know if it is ever going to happen. Right now we spend as much time as we can with our nieces & nephews as well as any other kids we can. It’s a wonderful gift to experience life through the eyes of a child trying & learning new things.
There is a lot more I could say but I’ll save i for another post.
